Suitability for a hair transplant depends on the pattern and stability of your hair loss, the quality and density of your donor hair (usually at the back and sides of the scalp) and your general health. It is generally more predictable once the pattern of loss has stabilised.

Dr Daood performs Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE), in which individual follicular units are taken one at a time from the donor area and placed into the areas of thinning. The procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic as a day procedure.

The number of grafts depends on the area being treated and your degree of hair loss, and an indicative plan is discussed once your scalp has been examined. More than one session is sometimes needed to reach the desired density. Indicative FUE pricing is: up to 2,000 grafts (around 4,000 hairs), $5,500 + GST; 3,000 grafts (around 6,000+ hairs), $8,000 + GST; 4,000 grafts (around 8,000+ hairs), $10,500 + GST; and 5,000 grafts (around 10,000+ hairs), $12,000 + GST. The final cost is confirmed in writing after your consultation.
